Nicolas, you choose Maiori lamps to dress the Patio Canal Plus for the Cannes Film Festival; how did you discover Maiori? What did attract you to them in the first place?
Every year I visit in the two editions of Maison&Objet where I wander around to get a feel of the tendencies and to discover gems. 4 years ago, I saw La Lampe Paris, it was made by a brand I didn't know at the time... Maiori! I fell in love with its "cinema" inspired design; it was evident for me that it will work well for Cannes.
We pride ourselves on the fact that our designs are timeless, is that part of your choice?
Yes, I firmly believe in clean design alongside contemporary lines. I find that principle in Maiori too, and it corresponds in every respect to CANAL+'s graphic identity.
Solar lighting can be wrongly perceived as cheap and inefficient, did Maiori change that perception for you?
living in Paris I haven't experienced outdoor solar lights before, but at Cannes, with Maiori lamps, I discovered the many advantages of solar lamps, particularly at an event space like Canal Plus Patio, which needs lamps to be very flexible and practical. We use only Maiori lamps for the terrace lighting because they are efficient, and you don't need electrical outlets.
Do you recommend our lamps as an event lighting solution?
I do! Completely. The broad range proposed by Maiori allows you to adapt the lighting solution to your needs, and the design is a plus!
